Our Story

For the love of dosa.

Our story began on a beautiful sunny day, in the home of two foodies that lived far away from the comforting kitchens of Chennai. Alas, no stores nearby sold dosa batter, and a strong craving for crispy dosas dunked in coconut chutney, that no other alternative could substitute, took hold. Thus, the idea of Dosa Kitchen was born.

Our journey began in a tiny commercial kitchen with a small home-style table-top grinder, and a passionate drive to fill the aroma of delicious homemade dosa, in every dosa lover’s kitchen. From the dosa batter, we expanded our product list to include many staple kitchen items usually found in all South Indian kitchens. After all, few things are better in life, than the taste of homemade dosa’s that are just like amma’s with every bite.

Dosa Kitchen began as an idea in 2019 and became a reality in April of 2022. We are authorized by the Vancouver Island Health Authority for operation and sale and have the necessary Food Safety Certification. Quality and hygiene are our highest priority, and we are proud to serve you the same batter that we use to make the food we serve to our child.
